Michael Norris Successful Case in Will County

Posted by John Callahan | Oct 28, 2012 | 0 Comments

Our client was indicted by the Will County Grand Jury for Aggravated
Criminal Sexual Abuse
of his own daughter, and Unlawful Restraint of his own daughter. In addition to facing a lifetime registration as a sex offender and sex offender counseling, he could have been sentenced to the penitentiary for up to 7 years on the Sex Abuse Charge and 3 years on the Unlawful Restraint charge, for a total of 10 years in prison. When our client first came to us, he had another attorney. He felt insecure about that attorney and hired us.We conducted a very aggressive defense for our client and subjected his daughter, who testified against him a trial, to a withering cross examination
in which she yelled at us during our cross examination. In addition, his wife was granted immunity to testify against him and she did.At the conclusion of the 3 day trial, our client was found “not guilty” of all charges. He did not have to register as a sex offender, and did not have to undergo sex offender counseling. We are in the process of expunging his arrest record. To say that our client was unspeakably happy is an understatement. We did a great job for him.
